Jiu Thai
Do we start with saying that this isn’t a Thai restaurant, but represents a cuisine from region of Northern China? Their claim to fame, is hand stretched noodles.
I’ve always wanted to try to make hand stretched noodles, but that’s not what this post is about.
This storefront is on the west side of the building that houses Buckeye Pho and Coco Hot Pot.
It looks like they’ve adjusted to Covid by making carryout their primary way to sell. There are tables but they are pushed to the perimeter of the space. We were served in carryout containers, and I’m not complaining, just saying, it’s not a real plate type of place.
But the food, was banging. It was really good. They give you a bottle of vinegar to top your dish and the absolutely fresh ingredients-cilantro, sesame
Scott ordered Charcoal squid skewers and we both got noodles.
I don’t see us in the business of doing serious food reviews, mostly because we are cheap and just order what we will eat. I’m a little envious of people who will go in and order a mess of things just to take a few bites. Or maybe we need a bigger group, but we really don’t want to do that either. Any poor soul who spent more than 15 minutes with us would want to get away. We are such nerds and have years of shorthand talking about our families, friends and interests.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a casual place, with quick service, that’s a little outside of your typical Chinese restaurant, check them out. I will absolutely eat there again.
They are closed on Tuesdays.
